    Collinsville Open Cut is located near Collinsville in Queensland, a short drive to Bowen and Airlie Beach, the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation.



    We are seeking an energetic and passionate Health, Safety and Training Manager to join our site leadership team. Reporting to the Operations Manager/SSE, the primary purpose of the role is to provide strategic advice and manage all aspects of the Health, Safety and Training portfolio. You will be an integral member of the leadership team and accountable for the site’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).



    As the Health, Safety and Training Manager, your role will involve leading and mentoring a dedicated HST team, guiding them to achieve safety and training objectives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic HST initiatives that align with our business goals and drive continuous improvement. Promoting a proactive safety culture will be central to your role, ensuring rigorous adherence to safety standards and regulations.



    With experience in senior safety roles gained in mining or heavy industries as well as a tertiary qualification in a related discipline, you will also be able to demonstrate a strong process focus and strategic approach to creating and maintaining a safe workplace. The successful candidate will be required to establish strong relationships whilst being prepared to challenge the norm and drive continuous improvement.
