The Role The ideal candidate for this role will be a multi-skilled operator, with a strong commitment to safety. Underground metalliferous mining experience with a strong background in development mining is required. You will be reporting to the Development Shift Supervisor where you will be responsible for assisting the frontline development jumbo operators to safely achieve the mine plan. This is a residential role in Mount Isa offered on a 7:7 shift roster which allows you to go home each day and enjoy the lifestyle that Mount Isa has to offer. This position offers a competitive salary, above market superannuation, potential assistance with relocation to Mount Isa and initial housing benefit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Development loader operations


• Development charging


• Off-siding frontline jumbo operators


• Development jumbo operating experience will be highly regarded


• Identify potential initatives in safety, cost-saving, and work practices


• To contribute positively to the team environment, operate safely and assist with delivery of development targets within budget by performing varied underground operator tasks

The successful candidate will possess:

• Elphinstone 1700 or Sandvik 514 loader ticket or an equivalent competency


• Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills;


• Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure;


• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and good communication skills;


• Willingness and ability to learn new processes;


• Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence;


• Ability to obtain a Police Clearance
